NDAA bans Iran’s Press TV from U.S. airwaves — Fight Back News — News And Views From The People’s Struggle — March 2, 2013
Chicago, IL – The massive 2013 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), signed into law by President Obama Jan. 2, contains sanctions that effectivly ban Iran’s popular station, Press TV [an Iranian TV news service], from U.S. airwaves or cable networks. Press TV is still available on the internet.
Iosbaker told Press TV, “In order for there to be an anti-war movement, there has to be alternative sources of information. And they’re afraid of the anti-war movement because even in just the recent history, the anti-war movement has had consequences for the rulers here.”
This is not the first such move by the U.S. The U.S. currently bans the popular and progressive Lebanese TV station Al-Manar. In 2008, a New York businessman was jailed for ‘material support for terrorism’ for including Al’Manar in satellite TV broadcast in the U.S.
Press TV has hosted numerous famous American guests on its network, including former US Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, Noam Chomsky, former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark, and many others:
• ’US politicians irresponsive to public’ (McKinney) (Because we have fake “election methods” red herrings, not simple score voting.)
• US, a leading terrorist state in world: Chomsky
• Former US Official exposes disinformation campaigns against Iran, Syria (Former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark)
But we Americans are not permitted to hear what these great fellow citizens have to tell us, since our oligarch owned ’leet dis-info-system will not let them, and blocks alternative sources such as Press TV.
